LEGAL TERMS FOR ABYSS.BLACK

Effective Date: April 25, 2026

Last Updated: April 25, 2026

PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF SERVICE CAREFULLY. BY ACCESSING, USING, POSTING, COMMENTING, MESSAGING, OR OTHERWISE SUBMITTING CONTENT TO ABYSS.BLACK (THE "SERVICE"), YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE TO ALL OF THESE TERMS, DO NOT USE THE SERVICE.

1. AGE REQUIREMENT AND COPPA COMPLIANCE

By using this Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 13 years of age. This Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a user under 13 has provided personal information, including persistent identifiers, we will take steps to delete such information as soon as reasonably possible.

If you believe a child under 13 has used the Service or submitted information to it, contact us at [email protected].

2. THE GHOST ACCOUNT

ABYSS does not use traditional usernames and passwords for ordinary users. Instead, the Service uses a "Ghost Account" model tied to browser storage and server-issued identifiers.

Your visible username, inbox history, read status, blocked users, and local message history may be stored in your browser's local storage. The Service also uses HttpOnly cookies, including short-lived anonymous session cookies and longer-lived device cookies, to support posting, ownership checks, abuse prevention, and moderation.

If you clear your browser data, delete cookies or local storage, use a private browsing window, change browsers, or change devices, your Ghost Account may reset. We may not be able to recover your username, local inbox, local messages, blocked-user list, or ability to prove ownership of prior posts or comments.

3. USER CONTENT AND PUBLIC SUBMISSIONS

You are solely responsible for any content you post, comment, reply, message, or otherwise submit through the Service. Posts and comments are public and may be viewed, shared, copied, indexed, screenshotted, or otherwise preserved by other users or third parties.

Do not submit personal, confidential, sensitive, illegal, or identifying information that you do not want others to see. The Service is not a private journal, secure vault, emergency reporting system, or confidential communications platform.

By submitting content, you grant ABYSS a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, reproduce, and distribute that content solely as needed to operate, protect, maintain, and improve the Service.

4. MESSAGES, INBOX, AND DELIVERY

The Service includes lightweight message and notification features. Messages and inbox notifications may be queued on the server for delivery, then stored locally in the recipient's browser after delivery. Message delivery is not guaranteed.

Messages are not represented as end-to-end encrypted. Do not use the Service to send secrets, passwords, financial information, medical information, legal information, emergency communications, or anything requiring confidentiality.

Messages sent to the administrator, and metadata needed to support conversations, abuse prevention, and delivery, may be retained separately from ordinary user inbox queues.

5. DATA, COOKIES, LOCAL STORAGE, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS

To operate the Service, we may collect or process content you submit, usernames, timestamps, IP addresses, cookie-based identifiers, hashed device or author identifiers, local storage values, inbox and message metadata, moderation records, abuse signals, and technical request data.

The Service uses third-party infrastructure and services, including Cloudflare Pages/Workers for hosting and serverless functions, Cloudflare Turnstile for bot and abuse prevention, Turso/libSQL for database storage, and Google Fonts for font delivery. These providers may process technical data such as IP addresses, request headers, security signals, database records, or other information necessary to provide their services.

We do not sell personal information. We may use collected information to operate the Service, deliver content, preserve user preferences, prevent spam and abuse, enforce these terms, maintain security, troubleshoot, respond to legal requests, and protect users and the Service.

6. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Local data remains in your browser until you or your browser remove it. Server-issued cookies expire according to their configured lifetimes or when you clear them.

Public posts and comments may remain on the Service until deleted by the owner, removed by an administrator, hidden by moderation, or otherwise removed during maintenance. Clearing browser data does not automatically delete posts or comments already submitted to the server.

Inbox queues are intended to be temporary and may be deleted after delivery, acknowledgement, or a retention period. Some records, including moderation records, abuse events, ban evidence, administrator messages, configuration records, and backups, may be retained for longer as needed for security, enforcement, legal, operational, or recovery purposes.

Deleted content may remain for a limited time in backups, logs, cached copies, moderation records, or copies already delivered to or saved by other users.

7. SECURITY CHECKS AND ABUSE PREVENTION

The Service uses security and abuse-prevention systems, including Cloudflare Turnstile, rate limits, IP and subnet analysis, cookie-based identifiers, hashed device identifiers, duplicate-content checks, similarity checks, spam-pattern detection, and administrator review.

You agree not to bypass, interfere with, disable, manipulate, overload, or evade these systems. We may throttle, delay, reject, hide, delete, shadow-ban, or block submissions or access when we believe such action is necessary to protect the Service or its users.

8. PROHIBITED CONDUCT

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation.
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, abuse, intimidate, or dox any person.
  • Post or distribute child sexual abuse material or exploitative content involving minors.
  • Post non-consensual intimate content or sexual content involving minors.
  • Distribute malware, phishing content, scams, spam, or automated abuse.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or affiliation.
  • Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other rights.
  • Attempt to access, intercept, scrape, enumerate, or interfere with data intended for others.
  • Use bots, scrapers, automated systems, or scripted behavior without express permission.
  • Circumvent Cloudflare Turnstile, rate limits, the Mirror Shield, bans, or other safeguards.

9. SECTION 230 AND USER CONTENT RESPONSIBILITY

In accordance with Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, you acknowledge that ABYSS is a provider of an interactive computer service and is not the publisher or speaker of information provided by users. You remain responsible for the content you create, submit, or transmit.

We may moderate, restrict, block, remove, or preserve content in good faith, including content we consider unlawful, harmful, abusive, spammy, harassing, objectionable, or inconsistent with these terms.

10. THE MIRROR SHIELD AND RIGHT TO TERMINATE

We reserve the right to terminate, shadow-ban, throttle, hide, delete, restrict, or block access to any Device ID, cookie identifier, IP address, subnet, Subscriber ID, author identifier, post, comment, conversation, or message at our sole discretion, without notice, for any reason, including suspected abuse, bot activity, security risk, or violation of these terms.

11. DELETION, OWNERSHIP, AND LOST ACCESS

The Service may allow you to delete posts or comments that it can identify as yours based on the current browser and device identifiers. If your Ghost Account resets or your identifiers are lost, we may be unable to verify that older content belongs to you.

Administrator moderation tools may remove or hide content independent of user deletion. Blocking a conversation or deleting local inbox data may remove it from your browser, but it may not remove copies already delivered to another user or retained for administration, moderation, or security.

12. COPYRIGHT, ABUSE, AND PRIVACY REPORTS

To report abuse, underage use, copyright concerns, privacy concerns, or requests related to content removal, contact [email protected]. Include enough information for us to locate the relevant post, comment, message, or issue.

13. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS

The Service may rely on or link to third-party services. We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their content, policies, availability, security, or data practices. Your use of third-party services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

14. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, PRIVATE, AVAILABLE, OR THAT POSTS, COMMENTS, MESSAGES, NOTIFICATIONS, OR OTHER DATA WILL BE DELIVERED, STORED, RECOVERABLE, OR REMAIN ACCESSIBLE.

15. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE DEVELOPER OF ABYSS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, CONTENT, REPUTATION, ACCESS, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

16. GOVERNING LAW AND ARBITRATION

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state or jurisdiction in which the Developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of the Service shall be settled through individual binding arbitration, and you waive your right to participate in a class-action lawsuit to the extent permitted by law.

17. MODIFICATIONS

We may revise these terms at any time by updating this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. We may require renewed acceptance when terms are materially changed.

BY CLICKING "AGREE," SUBMITTING CONTENT, OR USING THIS SITE, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTOOD, AND AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS.
